Project Overview
This Jellyfish was modeled using Houdini. It was my first ever Houdini-based project, and was a fun exercise in observational art, and procedural recreation of it.
My Contribution
I created the Jellyfish's bell, tentacles, and arms sequentially. I used a Vellum cloth simulation to implement the Jellyfish's arms, and the Vellum Hair simulation node for the tentacles. This was my first time using these Nodes and coding in VEX. It was tricky to wrap my head around but I used Adrien Lambert's extremely helpful video to help me stay on track! I still have some work to do on the Hair simulation, reducing the weight of the tentacles might make the movement seem more smooth across the board.Â
